The House says...
Brighton hosted Aston Villa in their last match and drew 0-0. Brighton are now out of the relegation zone as they string good results. They are unbeaten in 6 straight league matches that also includes wins against Tottenham and Liverpool. They are not scoring many goals, but it's their defense that gets them good results. They will now host Crystal Palace who are struggling at the moment.
Crystal Palace hosted Burnley and got beaten 3-0. It was a statement that I actually can't imagine, Palace conceding 3 goals to a Burnley team. That was the Eagle's 2nd straight loss, and their 3rd in their last 5 league matches. Roy Hodgson has to find a way to improve their defense as Palace have already conceded 5 goals in their last 2 matches.
Only 3 points are separating these 2 teams. Palace still has the better position in the table but Brighton has the form. The reverse fixture ended in a 1-1 draw and I think itwould be the same case here. Brighton are unbeaten in 6 matches, while Palace have lost their last 2 matches. That being said, I do think that the handicap given to Palace here is a little too high. Even without Zaha, I believe Roy Hodgson can put his team in a position to at least get a draw. I am backing Palace.

The Seagulls are enjoying a fine run of form of late in the English top flight, getting unbeaten in their last six matches in the league.

In their last league game, Brighton fought visiting Aston Villa to a scoreless stalemate following a 1-1 draw at Burnley.

That draw though, came after they were beaten 1-0 at Leicester City in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Brighton have another draw in their last six league games, 0-0 at home against Fulham, and posted three wins, all via 1-0 scorelines, at Leeds United, at home over Tottenham Hotspur and at Liverpool, respectively.

After 24 games, Brighton hold 16th spot with 26 points and are three points below 14th placers Palace. Brighton are also 16 points off a Europa League berth and Palace are 13ponts off with 14 games to go.

TWO-GAME SLUMP

The Eagles try to stop a two-game losing slump. They lost 3-0 at home to Burnley the last time out after tasting a 2-0 defeat at Leeds United.

Those losses came after Roger Hodgson’s side nailed two straight wins, 1-0 at home over Wolverhampton wanderers and 2-1 at Newcastle United.

The Eagles now seek to break their two-game spell without a goal. Their talisman, forward Wilfried Zaha, is currently recovering from a thigh injury. Zaha has so far scored nine goals this campaign.

In Zaha’s absence, midfielder Eberichi Eze and striker Christian Benteke will now lead the eagles’ attack Both of them have so far scored three league goals.

Palace’s two-game slide came they scored back-to-back wins, 1-0 at home over Wolverhampton wanderers and 2-1 at Newcastle United.

In their last league showdown, Palace and Brighton played to a 1-1 standoff at Selhurst Park, whilst the last time they met at Brighton, Palace won 1-0.
