The Analyst says...
Manchester City hosted Championship team Birmingham in their last match of their FA Cup campaign. Needless to say, City was the big favorites coming into that match, and they did easily win against Birmingham after fielding their first team headed by Gabriel Jesus. They will visit 4th tier team Cheltenham on the next round of FA Cup. Back in Premier League, they also won their last match against Chelsea and are now 5th in the table with 2 more games at hand.
Brighton visited 4th tier team Newport in their FA Cup campaign and barely won thru Penalties. They have only 1 game in their last 10 matches. They had a promising start to the season but those days are long gone. They are barely out of the relegation zone, only 3 points clear of Fulham. It will not be easier this time as they will visit Manchester City in their next match.
Pep Guardiola and his men are just 4 points behind league leaders Liverpool with 2 more games at hand, and a win here would trim that lead to just 1, so they will take this game very seriously. On the other hand, Brighton are missing some key players with the likes of Lamptey and Bissouma, and with their form, this is certainly going to be a long afternoon for the Seagulls. This is all about Manchester City and I think they can still cover the handicap even if it's -2. I am backing City here.
