Trying to recapture the magic that catapulted them to the title the past season, Marinos remained in anemic form as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Cerezo Osaka in their last game.
Erik Lima put Marinos to the lead in the 52nd, but Cerezo charged back behind goals apiece from Hiroshi Kiyotake in the 58th minute and Toshiyuki Takagi in the 86th that enabled Cerezo to snatch all three points.3RD STRAIGHT DEFEAT

Marinos fell to 10th place in the table with 21 points after 17 games, and they lead 11th placers Vissel Kobe just on goal difference. Marinos are also two points off ninth placers Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
Shimizu, 12th among 18 clubs competing the past campaign, are struggling at second-to-last spot with just nine points after playing 16 games. They lead fellow strugglers and last-placed Shonan Bellmare by three points, whilst they are two points off 15th placers Sagan Tosu and 16th placers Vegalta Sendai.LOSS AT HOME
In their last game, Peter Cklamovski’s squad succumbed yet to another loss, this time 2-1 at home to Kashima Antlers.
Prior to that, they also were beaten 3-2 at home by Yokohama, 5-0 at Kawasaki Frontale, 2-1 at home to Kashiwa Reysol and 4-1 at Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
In their latest league meeting, Marinos beat hosts Shimizu 4-3, whilst in their last duel at Marinos, Shimizu fashioned out a 1-0 victory.
