Sergio Ramos may play for Paris Saint-Germain when they take on Manchester City in Group A of the Champions League on Thursday.
The four-time CL champion will make his first appearance for PSG if he is fielded in.
He has not played for his new club since leaving Real Madrid in the summer.
The 35-year-old Ramos, 35, has been recovering from a calf injury but is in the squad that traveled to Manchester for the heavyweight Group A clash.
If City escapes defeat, it will advance to the knockout stage. They lead the group with nine points after four games and lead second placers PSG by a point.
City, meanwhile, will also make the last 16 if Club Bruges fails to beat RB Leipzig in the other game in the group.
Ramos, a veteran Spain international, endured an injury-hit final campaign in Madrid, only making 15 league appearances, and was not selected for Spain’s Euro 2020 squad.
PSG head coach Mauricio Pochettino has nearly a full-strength squad to take to Manchester, with only Julian Draxler and Rafinha recuperating from injury. Stars Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar are all traveling in the 23-man unit.City, meanwhile, will definitely be without Ferran Torres as he recovers from a fractured foot, while in doubtful status are Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish, both of whom missed Sunday’s 3-0 win over Everton.
Ramos was part of a blockbuster summer transfer window that also saw Messi, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Georginio Wijnaldum signed for free.
Barcelona legend Messi and Real Madrid icon Ramos were bitter rivals in Spain, but the Argentine insists there is no longer any ill-feeling between them, even though it was strange at first.
In a recent interview with Spanish publication Marca, Messi said: ``At first, it was weird after so many years of being rivals, being the two captains of Barcelona and Madrid, after so many Clasicos played, so many fights we had on the pitch. But all that is in the past and we have always respected each other a lot, no matter how much we have been rivals in those Clasicos.’’
